I am currently looking at installing one 2800 watt Onyx Amp with one Ported Boss 2800 Watt Onyx subwoofer. My main question is do I need a capacitor or should I be fine without it?
i got a cap with 2 terminals on it, should I:
a) run power to cap then to amp (off 1 cap terminal), run ground from amp to ground and cap to ground seperately?
b) run power to cap and out of cap to amp using 2 termnals, then ground amp?
c) run power to cap then to amp (on 1 cap terminal), then...
capable of releasing > 10 kJ/s, if possible.
can charges within < 10 minutes
can produce extremely high voltages > 50kV
i know nothing about capacitors but have an almost basic idea of how they work please help as much as possible
Hi,
How can I measure the capacitance of a capacitor, using the following:
a battery,
?
a digital voltmeter (which records voltage as a function of time),
?
a digital ammeter (which records current as a function of time),
?
an industrial capacitor,
?
two copper plates,
?
and several bits of...
I recently dismantled my amp/cap setup, and I must have done something wrong. I have woke up the past few mornings with a battery dead as a doornail. I then found out that I had a .5-.7 volt parasitic drain. After disconnecting my capacitor, the drain went away. I'm pretty sure it was the way...
how to install a Power Acoustik Pcnc-3F 3-Farad Capacitor for car audio . and its werid cause all of the capaciors i have ever messed with b4 onl had two terminals and this onee has 4 and and i dont know which two terminals is for power and same way for ground. and when i was trying to put the...
going to run a 56,000 uf capacitor in my 99 yamaha to help maintain 12 volts. this is in order to be able to run a hid headlight without worrying about not having 12 volts all the time when the sled is at idle. since i don't have a battery to make my life easier. if anybody has or knows a better...

does anyone now which are the best capacitor like the good brands, is soundstorm good? and lanzar and pyle, boss, planet audio, power acoustic, legacy, spl, which are the good ones?? i got a 800 watt rockford fosgate and 2 12" kenwood kfc w3012 1200 watts each max
ok so i got two 12" kenwoods subs 1200 watts peak each 400rms, i got them hooked up to a Rockford fosgate 900 watt amp. and i want to know what kind of capacitor i need cuz i dont want to fuk up the alternator i already replaced it once because of the system, i dont know wat farad really means...
obviously the BEST option is to run a second 12v battery in the back of my car for my system. however he said whether i do that or not i should still remove my capacitor. he said they are shi.t. for one he says they actually take away power from your system, 2 they can destroy alternators and...

Ok i have installed 2 amps in my brothers new hiace van but am a little unsure as to where the capacitor goes? does it go in series with the positive lead from the battery to the amp? or negative? or parrallel?
Im confused?
i have an mtx thunder 1501d monoblock amp that puts out 1500 watts at 1 ohm continuous. it is powering 2 12" pioneer subs. the subs are pioneer's flagship subs and are rated at 3k watts peak and 1500 continuous. the stereo is in conjunction with the factory interior stereo in my audi a4 2.0t...
Does a car audio capacitor help your amp put out more power as in like would it make your sub woofers bang harder or is it for something else..............
Thanks for the advice, I figured as much that it will help in my situation. Which is I have 110 amp alternator and an amp that draws about 90 amps and produces 1000rms. Just get slight voltage drops. So I think I will get a cap but WHAT SIZE TO GET AND WHY.
I am working on building an automatic cat food feeder out of an alarm clock.
When the alarm goes off it triggers a geared motor with a pulley system to pull the lid off a container until a kill switch is struck.
I would like to know how to wire the motor to go in the reverse direction after...
