can i get done to fix this? i have a 1987 chevy caprice, it has a small to medium rust hole in her floor, what can i get done to fix this. can i get someone to weld new metal in there, or what do i search and ask for when it comes to repair for this ?

I was recently driving my car and park it and it wouldnt start up so I got a jump and it started up.Then a cut the car off and it didnt start again.That has never happen.Was thinking the alternater was bad.How do I check to see if my alternator is bad???
