It drives nice on its own but sits about 3500 rpm at 110km/h on highway. I was wondering if the motor would be too small for a caravan about 600kg heavy. Or is it okay once you have momentum up???
Looking at buying a caravan to travel Europe in this summer (motorhome is too expensive)
Wanted to know if anyone knows of the best makes models etc to get the best value for money, looking at spending about 2k which looking on auto trader is easy enough, though wondered if there are certain age...
There's an old 1997 Dodge (Grand?) Caravan we may buy as a second "junky, everyday" vehicle. It does fine except, besides reverse being out, it also sometimes will downshift to 2nd or 3rd gear around 60mph. This causes the tachometer, which will normally be around 2000 rpm at this speed...

switch setting/no vacuum lines? Our 2001 Dodge Caravan blows mainly through defroster vents regardless of where the switch is set..it will let a little air come through the top vents depending on where I set the switch but nothing is getting to my feet. I have been told it doesn't have vacuum...

...for a while? It doesn't really happen on surface streets. I notice the noise after being on the freeway for a while and then I come to town. As I am slowing it is still whining like it wants to run high. The RPMs come down but the engine whines as if it's still running high RPM's.
