    Which video codecs should I use; Xvid or H264?

    Xvid takes up smaller space but H264 has an overall higher quality. Hmm... The choices, the choices.

    does anyone know any video playes, that would play most of the codecs eg. .avi, Xvid?

    im using mpcstar atm but its not very good picture quality but plays most of the movies/ clips of all codecs, im looking for better!

    I want a software that can play all codecs..? Download without virus and for free?

    I am told that Windows Media Classic can do this but I downloaded one and it cannot play a .flv video I downloaded from youtube...Is there anything that can help me play this video? Or at least a good converter so I can watch it..
