directv

I just got directv and I've heard that it has on demand ( to watch free shows ). Its supposed to be on channel 1000 but when i checked there is no 1000 so I'm wondering if they've deleted that channed ( which would be stupid ) or if i have to buy it.

I am looking into getting satellite television for my room but i don't know which of these two providers to choose. Which one do you recommend? I like sports, that's what i watch mostly. Also movies is second and then reality shows and news. Thanks :) I WATCH SOCCER ALL THE TIME! ALSO, I LOVE HD!

I checked and it's definitely the boxes problem and not the speakers. After we had a power outage 2 days ago the sound quit working but before it worked fine. I called directv and the did nothing for me.
