Which is more interesting? Which is more easy to use?

do I get to use the voice features? I have seen people dictating text messages, voice search and stuffs like that with their Eclair Android phones. How do I get to do that?

I've been hearing all the talk about it, but where is the update? Also I don't want to root the phone to get the SDK update. I want the real full update.

...onto the i1? Its all in the question. I heard that there is a way with the HTC Hero, Droid, and some other phones called rooting. Is it possible for this boost/nextel phone? The current firmware running on the phone is 1.5 (Cupcake).
