I'm replacing the outer CV joint on the passenger side of our elantra. I have it basically all apart so far. The boot is off and the joint is loose. I cannot pull it off of the axle. Is there a snap ring or some other holding device that must be removed?

I'm looking to hear from people who actually own an Elantra. What kind of problems have you had and at what mileage? Does it make a good travel car? I want something comfortable and reasonably quiet. I have a bad back and do mostly highway travel 60 miles each way.
