I've tried Handbrake however I can't seem to get the videos to convert to the format I want to in video converters (Hand Brake only apparently has MPG4 and another, neither which can be seen in video format on my PC).

I have a family video that is on a cheap cd. That is fine, but I want to rip it so I can make many copies for family members. Also I would like to edit it and change some scenes or remove them and add my voice as narrator. So far people have given me answers for many....that actually COST money...

I have lots and lots of mpeg2 format video clips on my computer that are on average about 2GB to 4GB in size. I've been using Windows DVD Maker. It's freaking SLOW as it could be. Takes an hour for just one of the files to "encode" and then the time to burn the DVD itself. Is there anything else...
