Hey everyone. I have a freshwater 200 gallon tank which was originally made for salt water. I was wondering if I use the UV light, will it kill my good bacteria which consume the ammonia produced from waste. Any ideas?
I am considering moving to a different state. I have been an avid fisherman my whole life. I want to move to a state this is warm year round and also has waters with abundant trophy fish.

Today I bought my first tropical fish, 2 swordtails and another fish but the pet shop didnt know what breed it is. It is blue/green with orange tips and about as long as the swordtails. Here are some pictures (sorry its hard to photograph)...

of them has a long pinkish redish strip? going down the middle of the tail , and that wasnt there last night i just saw it tonight..... its more red at the bottom of the tail, what is it and what can i do ?
I have a 50 gal tank with a pictus, bala shark, upside down cat, and a pleco. The pleco cleans the tank really fast of any algae that's growing ..and there isn't much growing to begin with.
