i want to get the fuze but i dont wanna buy the 3g plan because i rarly use phone internet. would anyone recomend this over the iphone?

I need a new phone. Has to run on AT&T. I've narrowed it down to three choices. HTC Fuze. Not optimal, as I would prefer a larger screen w/o the keyboard. Aside from that; has all the features I want. HTC Touch HD. Perfect phone...except that it won't use 3G. I'm having a hard time...

I would love to save some money with this great phone using VoIP. I think the downsides so far are: 1. it is a bit think and clunky (a bit) 2. Low battery life (I guess I could buy another battery 3. Proprietary headphone jack and a large adapter if you want to use your own headphones
