If I restore to a custom iPhone iOS 4 Firmware I get error 1600 If I restore to 3.1.2 or 3.1.3 it won't allow it because it says it isn't eligible for it. What do I do?! Please help! Thanks

I just finished jailbreaking my iPhone 3Gs to a custom iOS4 firmware. The first step I wanted to take was changing the default root password. The only way I know how to do this is by using the MobileTerminal App. Unfortunately this app was just updated last week for iOS4 and is still unstable...

On iTunes, it said would you like to upgrade your iPod to 4.0(iOS4) and I clicked "Download Only". I waited the six minutes till it was done, then said download complete. But NOTHING is new on myiTouch...should have i clicked "Download and Install?"
