I baught the truck used and i dont think it even came with the original key. i know this feature is optional and not all vehicles have them How do i find out mine has a keyless entry reciever? Its a 2004 dodge ram 1500 Laramie this truck is loaded. it has a 6 cd changer to heated leather seats...
This is actually three questions:
1) Is it possible?
2) Can "I" do it? I have no experience. I have built desktop PCs so I'm not completely "build averse" but I know ZERO about cars.
3) Is there another good inexpensive option? I just want to be able to unlock my car when I've got my baby in one...
I purchased a second keyless remote for my 1999 CR-V and was able to program it to open the doors. However while the old remote, which fortunately still works, will shut off the factory alarm system when the car unlocks, the new remote will not shut off the alarm. Help!

...doesn't unlock it. ? I've tried my spare key and the same thing happens so it's not the battery. The "trunk popper" works. The "Lock Button" works. But the "Unlock Button" isn't unlocking the car. What's up with that?
