Actual historical facts please. Like I know primitive people had certain beliefs and superstitions, but how did this turn into gods, etc. I'd like to understand where people changed to worshipping something, why?

Im from Europe and I am writing an essay about the texan stereotype which is portrayed in hollywood movies, with english and psychology as the two main subjects. I would like to know if anyone can contribute with some knowledge about the origin of this stereotype (the loud talking cowboy)...
...cultural differences? That others are beneath them? I am not saying any individual feels this way, but we all know there are those who do. We all know they are bigots, but what is the root of that bigotry?

I have heard theories that Islam originated from the Moon god Allah whose sign was the crescent. Christianity originated from pagan Egyptian stories (apparently). From where did Judaism originate from, any theories?
