My wife and I want to take our kids to Canada who are 11 and 13. We applied for passports for ourselves but did not think of the kids in that aspect. Can they get in with just their birth certificate or do we absolutely need a passport to get them back in the states? Thank you!

Oaky, because my dad called immigration, and they said that if you're leaving on a cruise form the US, like Miami or San Juan and your cruise stops at lets say, the West Indies, you can get out and walk aroud, and you dont need a passport! Is this true?
