    Highway off ramp dirt hill truck thing?

    Ever been driving down the side of a highway and see an off ramp filled with mounds of dirt? I asked my husband what it was and he said its to slow down trucks. Looks kinda dangerous. Anyone know more about it? Never seen one used or if that's what it's even for.
