I am getting Dish Network do i need Internet or phone line to use duo receiver?

Can you program your DirecTv remote to your receiver?
I have a Sony brand retriever that I hooked up fro surround sound in my room. The remote sucks! The only thing that works is the volume up. haha. what is the wattage of my home theatre receiver for the subwoofer...?
I recently purchased the Sony 7.1 Channel Home Theatre Receiver (STRDH710) and i am unclear as to how much wattage is powering the subwoofer. the description says that each of the 7 channels if 105 watts for a total of 735 watts, but it does not say what the wattage is for the subwoffer channel...- BobNugget

Is a home theater receiver like these good for strictly music?

How do subtitles on my sattelite receiver work?
Like on sky network channels, I open the subtitle window and choose a subtitle language. My question is: Are these subtitles broadcasted along with the picture, or does the receiver obtain a text file or something containing the text and time codes, and then displays it? -

My LG LE8500 does not support DTS. If i get a DTS capable receiver can I
