I am trying to access the cable box's actual settings so i can set up my HDMI cable. Time warner cable box, HD is set up, just the hdmi cable port wont be accessed.

When downloading a one hour program from torrents, they are usually xvid files around 350MB. What program and settings are used to create those files? I have lots of large Recorded TV files that I would like to convert to files that are similar size and quality to those.
