When in [Parked] the car almost seems as if it squats or jerks when shifting into [Drive] but runs fairly smooth once in motion, I find it awkward and would like to hear from others with a Lincoln Ls experiencing the same problem. ps. ANY help will be greatly appreciated, Thanks.

I have an automatic transmission in my V6 1999 VW Jetta. When I accelerate, the RPMs will rev up and then it will shift into gear very roughly. It seems to only to this when it tries to either shift into 3rd or 4th. I'm not sure which. Is this definitely a transmission problem?
