What is the spark plug gap for a 1971 Volkswagen Super Beetle? It has a stock 1600cc engine.

My son and grandson won a candyfloss Competition and I was told their photo was on the internet.

it has een leaking since we changed the spark plugs last time..so its been let go for a while..any suggestions?? i cant just replace the rings and head gasket?? im not sure if they go thrrough the valve cover..when i change the spark plugs i have to use 2 umm extentions to get to my spark...

My car cut out on me the other day and hasnt started since. Im not getting any spark from the spark plugs. Im having problems trying to isolate where the problem is coming from. I thought possibly a new distributor but im unsure. any advise? cheers martin

I was wondering if it would be a good idea to take a shot at it myself. I figure it will be hard and require a full days work, but if I can save the 100+ dollars firestone wants to charge, its worth learning. What kind of spark plugs do I need? The guy at autozone gave me platinums.

...the car a while ago.? I noticed that the wires were very difficult to removed from the plugs.I pulled the spark plugs out and noticed that there was oil around the plug not on it,but down in the port chamber,as if oil was leaking down around the plug.I put the plugs back and the car runs...

plugs and it still won't start.? I think the ignition coils may need to be replaced. The distributor doesn't looked burned but it doesn't start. We took off one spark plug and we didn't see a spark when we cranked it over. Can any mechanic or someone that knows car please help me out. Thanks!!

first you try a different sparky. Those kind of defects are usually cheap to fix . check all the wires.Does it have breaker points ?If so that is usually the problem. as a last resort have the coil tested .

Hi, my 73 type 3 isnt firing? I havent checked for spark yet - but if I do have a spark - what would you check next? I previosly poured small amount of petrol directly into carbs and it fired straight away.

I need to change the sparkplugs but I don't know how to remove the rubber caps on the top of the engine.

They are wet with fuel. have pulled injectors to see if they leak over night. but they didn't. have no idea were else fuel could be leaking from.

We have typically put it up for our customers to give suggestions. If one of the customer's suggestion is picked they get a free oil change and tire rotation. I am wanting some of your opinion's on this also. We are again doing this for our customer's but would like more input this go around...
