subtitles

i tried "preferences" already! (advanced, tried subtitle font) a friend did it for me once, but i forgot how they did it...(at least i know it CAN be done) Please helpp??!!

Why is it most of the time when I convert a Japanese video that was MKV, into a DVD, using ConvertXtoDVD, many times the subtitles are in one long line, and they won't fit on the tv screen? How do I fix this problem?

I have downloaded some movies.. But i want dutch subtitles on it. I have a avi movie and an xvid one.. I have subtitles for both of them. Now i need a program to burn the subtitles on it so i can stream it to my ps3. I prefer a free/cracked program cause i wont spend money on it..

I inserted a Japanese movie into my computer hard drive, and it comes up on DivX player, but it won't show the subtitles! I tried everything I could but I'm honestly confused. Can someone help me out here? I should also mention that the subtitles worked when I put in my PS3.
