hi, i am looking for a free texting application, free or paid for the iphone. i am wondering what are the best ones and actually work?

or will it charge me extra? for example, im going on a cruise ship for four days.. would it charge me for that or is that covered too? I got the $40 package, that has international texting for a month. Im going on a bahamas cruise and keaving tomorrow so if anyone could help that would be great.
