You want to keep your cadence up 70-90 Rom's or higher. Don't worry about the speed if you are able to vary the resistance. You want to be able to finish a race so endurance is important. You want to find the cadence and resistance where your breathing is fast enough to be able to talk but...

I have recently bought a a Roger Black Exercise bike and cross trainer.
The screen on it stays at zero and dosen't show numbers. What shall i do to fix this.
