I know im in for a cylinder head overhaul, but I was wondering if the valves would create MAJOR damage to the pistons when they hit, I'm not worried about the minor damage that they probably left, but more like holes or something major. just so I know what to order in parts.

i have a 1963 ford f100 and i need to set the valves i think. well the motor has never been rebuilt. actully the head has never been pulled. one of the valves is "tapping". How do i set the valves. ive only set valves on a OHV Briggs and Stratton. it is a 223 inline six.

I adjusted the valves on my 350 and then when I went back to TDC The valves on the number 1 cylinder were loose. Is this ok? Is it becasue it has hydralic lifters and they leak down?
I was looking at the specs on my audi a4 and it said 30 valves and I was looking at a few other cars and they said 24 valves. What do the valves determine? Whats the difference if the car has more valves than another?
