...on..what is usually the reason? and how easy to repair? is it as easy maybe usually as pulling the top off and replacing a very inexpensive fuse or switch? (is this usually the reason?) what about items such as a food steamer,? how similar or different? and why more people dont repair...

I have a VCR/Dvd machine. Its a big machine where one side is dvd and the other is for vhs. I was wondering if i could record the tv i see on dvd. The vcr side has a record button where as the dvd machine doesn't have one. Do u think if i used a dvd would it record the tv on the dvd thanks
