Sometimes my phone will wait to receive new messages cause my inbox is full but there is only like 3 messages in the inbox. Anybody know why this might be ?

I have a Motorola W385 and with the provider Koodo in southern Ontario. And for some odd reason whenever I text someone, it sends up to 6 copies of the same text message. The battery is completely charged. Please help! D:
the phone was working fine then the next time i pulled it out of my pocket it was off. i pushed the power button and it came on but would only display a dark screen with the motorola symbol. it won't go any further to pull up the usual screen saver with options to use the phone. i have tried...
Was working fine, received a text message, and when I took it out of my pocket, the "OK" button to view the message wouldn't work; neither would any other button. I powered it off, and turned it back on-still nothing. I've taken the battery out, and left it out-still nothing.

...can I turn it off? I'm not sure how it got on in the first place. The only two options in the menu related to the icon are E911 on and Location ON.
I don't recall seeing the icon there before and I'd like to know how to turn it off.
