i have an iphone my friend gave me. i tried to reset it but it froze. i dont know which model it is. can i go to the apple store and get it fixed? will they just fix it for free? or what should i do? will i have to get warranty to get it to work?

I’m selling my iPhone 3GS and its 8 months into its 1 year warranty. I have no idea what I need to give to the buyer so that if they need to claim warranty they can. Does anyone know what I need to do? Thanks. - Elimn8
