hello , lately i developed a taste for red wine and some how i like australian shiraz, but still i don't know much about wine so what would you guys recommend cheers. :)
Im making garlic prawns and it says i need 1/2 glass of white wine.
This is how the wine is used - Splash oil in a pan, wait until red hot and sear the prawns until they just start to change colour, then pour in the white wine and boil.
What can i substitute for that, that's not alcoholic...
Don't have much experience of "decent" tasting Spanish wine.... am trying to find an equivalent to the shiraz / merlot types and any advice would be appreciated.

have had to giveup alcohol cos of my liver but miss the taste of chardonnay wine, i wasnt even gettin grunk anymore after drinking 3 bottles a night so if someone knows of a non alcohol drink to replace this i would be so grateful
I disagree. If the lady is looking for romance, a pint would kill your edge. Were as the reverse happens when most women drink. plus women don't like drunks.
Not much in premium found in NZ. The Pinot Noir is their leading red grape. Their Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon are used almost exclusively for Bordeaux style blends.

I have tried Moscato and Reisling but they are really Hit or Miss. I want to find something I can enjoy just like a Shiraz. I can enjoy any Shiraz even if its just ok.
I have had this one two separate occasions, and it is my favorite wine I have had! I want to buy a bottle or two for myself. What year, etc. should I buy? I'm not really a wine expert and could use some help! Also, any similar wines?
I was wondering which kind of wine contains more alcohol or is stronger. I drink white wine sometimes but i heard that red wine is stronger... is it true???
I bought an Italian spaghetti sauce that has red wine vinegar listed in the ingredients, and on the front it says "made with white wine". Everything else is vegan, but I don't know about this one ingredient. Anyone know?

Recently I asked a question of which expensive red wine would be around in the 1960s, and one of my answerers said that white wine is the more expensive and goes with meals better than reds.
So could you help me out in this area too?
