00 impala car stereo is locked, bought it from another impala, how can i unlock it?

i bought a stock car stereo for my 00 impala b/c mine was just the radio kind, i installed the one i bought, and now its locked.
is there something else i can do to inlock it without having the chevy dealer unlock it for me?

do i just call the local chevy dealer or what other place?
 
try using the preset buttons and punching the code 4444 in it its uses a 4 digit code to unlock it with and those numbers have unlocked them a few times for me,you have to do it about 3 times in a row before it usually works when you don't have the correct code,it may or may not work but it only takes few seconds to find out,good luck.

The dealer should do it for free if not it wont b very much
