I'm wanting to put True duals on my 05 dodge ram 4.7 do I need to go with 2.5 inch pipe or 3inch pipe there won't be any cats and I might put 18 inch glasspacks It came with a flowmaster dump when I bought it and it seems like it wasting all it's power because it doesn't have enough back pressure I don't care about hp I just want torque I don't want flownaster so don't even talk about it and I don't care if it legal or not also I plan on puting a k&n air intake soon and I'm going to have a muffler shop do all the work

Bigger pipes are always better. Muffler shops can put about any size on that you want.

I doubt if the back pressure is causing a lack of power especially with a flow master. Trying to get alot of power and torque out of a 4.7 liter full sized truck as opposed to the 5.9 is going to be hard to do. A 2 into 1 into 2 exhaust system or a restriction in the exhaust however is very possible whether it be the cat or the muffler. I'm running true dual flow masters and they sound and perform great. If your looking for torque and power go with the 2.5 inch pipe. Good luck and hope this helps.
