A $9.6 million grant from the National Institutes of Health has been awarded to the University of Illinois at Chicago to study access to care and health disparities among underserved and minority women with breast cancer in Chicago. The UIC Center for Population Health and Health Disparities is one of 10 sites across the country to receive funding from the NIH to study racial and ethnic disparities in health.
