I have a friend in a wheelchair who sneers at my dad's 1973 Porsche 914, calling it a "poor man's Porsche," and always talks up his VW R32. Personally, I don't ever want to drive a car with an automatic shift, since I think it doesn't take much to put your foot on the pedal (I love standard shift) and go 100 mph in a straight line. Do you think a restored 914 is better (meaning more fun to drive) than a relatively modern R32)?
