I just replaced tie rod ends, ball joints, drag link and added a dual steering stabilizer and my steering wheel still has a lot of play in it. My truck is lifted with 31" tires. I just posted on here yesterday about this problem and some one said to adjust my gearbox by loosening a nut and tightening a screw on the gearbox. I did that and it tightened up the movement of my steering wheel but there is still play in the steering wheel. All that did was make the steering wheel harder to move not take out the play in the steering wheel. If anyone has a suggestion please let me know.

There are still some parts in there that could be worn. How about wheel bearings, idler arm and pitman arm bushings? Any of those will give play. Forgot to mention a-frame bushings too.

I would back off your adjustment some. If to tight could snap inside of steering box. Also check the frame where steering box is mounted. Sometimes frames will crack behind box causing some play that way. Also check the rubber joint in the steering shaft to see if thats torn. Its better with two people to do this so one of you can watch and the other to move the steering wheel
