My 1985 380sl has no A/C!!!
It has been retrofitted from 134 to R12, but not sure if retrofit was done properly ad the low side valve is REALLY hard to get to. Anyway, I put in two cans of R12 WITH dye and bought myself the little LED light and glasses. I didn't see any dye anywhere!!! It cooled for a little bit afterward but for no more than two days at most. Not sure if it is the evaporator because I only checked the engine compartment, but there were no dye-water leaks on the garage floor either. They guy who supposedly did the retrofit (about two years ago), said I needed a hose but if so, wouldn't I have seen SOME dye? Any ideas?
Thanks!
