I have two options, just confused about what to go for. Just wondering if anybody has some ideas. Here is some information about both bikes:
1) 1986 Honda Shadow VT500
Original miles: approx. 9000
Body: Top condition
No sign of leaks. Everything looks very good and the bike seems to have been well kept.
The only issue is that it has been sitting for one year with gas in the tank which is why it is not running at the moment.
It looks like all it needs is a carb and gas tank clean up to get it started.
Asking price: $400
2) 2004 Suzuki GS500f
Original miles: It seems the odometer stopped working at 22,000 and the owner claims that he must have put about 2-3k more on it.
Body: Cracks and dents. Has been dropped a few times
Seems ok but doesn’t look like it was taken care of.
This bike runs but the tires need to be changes right away.
Asking price: $700
Don’t know if I should go in for a bike that looks like it has been well kept and has very low miles on it but is 24 years old or a much newer bike that has been dropped a few times and has more miles (probably much more than the reading).
