We first replaced the rear brake calipers on this vehicle as one side was frozen.. It is all-wheel disk brakes. After replacing the calipers, we went through the normal bleeding process, starting with the rear passenger side caliper, moving to the rear driver side caliper, than to front passenger side, finishing with front driver side. Bleeding the brakes produced a good solid stream of fluid out of each bleeder valve, but we remained without brakes. We assumed master cylinder, so that was replaced with a new one. After replacing the cylinder, we re-bled all of the brakes in that same order. Currently we have solid power to the front brakes, but no power to the rear brakes. The brake pedal will gain pressure if you pump at it, but than looses the pressure after a short while. There are no leaks that are visible at any of the four calipers, the lines, or master cylinder. There appears to be an equalizing valve which the master cylinder connects to, where the front brake line is split and sent to each side of the car, and the same goes for the rear brake lines. It is the only part that has not yet been replaced. Can it be what's causing only the back brakes to have no power and the whole system to be loosing pressure?
As in response to Bob's answer, what is this part called? And also, what does it actually do?
