Background: I have gone through two batteries since last year when i bough the car, the battery that was in the car originally was smaller than the one it should have had. So in saving time thinking it's the battery, it's not, I've had it tested to confirm that it is still good.
Problem: Last week, I replaced my turn signal flasher, it had gone bad and my signals quit working quite awhile ago, but finally got around to finding out it was only the flasher that needed replacing. In that process, I took out two other relays that I thought may have been the flasher and put them back in upon seeing they were indeed, not the flasher. I think one of them may have been my fuel pump relay. All of the relays are back where they belong now though. Before even doing this, my car, once a week, would have problems starting. It would turn over and turn over but the engine would never cut on. Since messing around with the relays, it does this on a daily basis, now taking about 10-15 minutes of trying to get the car to start before the engine actually cuts on. Also, to make it interesting, it only seems to do this when it has been sitting in the sun and heat for awhile. In the morning and at night, it starts without hesitation.
I am tossing a few ideas around as to what could be the problem. One of my belts are loose, I don't remember if its the A/C or alternator though. Is this the beginnings of a starter issue? Did I screw something up by taking out the relays and putting them back in? Especially if one of them was the fuel pump relay. Could it be my fuel pump is going/is bad?
Any help would be great or cheap quick fix ideas for now until I can afforf to have it fixed. I think I will cry when the day comes of it not starting altogether before i can afford to fix it
