OK, I just have asimple question. I have a 1995 Buick Lesabre Limited with the 3800 engine. Is the alternator connected to the computer. I have two mechanics that are giving me different reasons as to why my car battery won't charge. One says the alternator (which I've replaced 4 times with junkyard alternators that all test out ok in a car parts place) and the other says its the computer. However, the one that claims that its the computer says that the alternator isn't controlled by the computer. What's going on?
On a side note, I have had the starter and battery (which is new) tested. It will start fine, and the battery will hold a charge. The thing is my battery meter jumps to 14 for 30 secs and then drops to 10 and then slowly gos down til the car won't run. For sure My alternator is not kicking out any juice. The questions is, is my luck so bad that 4 alternators that test out good are actually bad that I have put in, or is it the computer (if it's even possible).
