1995 Porsche 993 cabriolet problems with top/hood/engine cover?

The other day in a rain storm I tried putting the top up before taking the boot off, it blew a fuse and jammed in place. When I got home and replaced the fuse, the top was closing correctly, but the warning light was still on. I cycled the top a few times, the light went off - then all of a sudden the front latch wouldn't close completely and light came back on. From there, both latches wouldn't work and seemd to be shorting out, only moving in short broken movements - now that is the extent of action for the rocker switch - (Just some short movements in the front locks/latches). When this problem started, I noticed the hood won't stay open, which it had been 20 minutes earlier, and neither will the engine cover. My guess is the hydraulic system is in trouble? But the hydraulic pump is about impossible to reach or even check a level?
Any help out there?
