I have a 1995 Saturn SL which suddenly won't start. It's not had any recent problems and there seems to be power (lights / radio / etc. all turn on just fine), but when I try to start it nothing happens.

I tried to jump it, but it wouldn't even turn over.

There's also a weird clicking that comes and goes in the upper left part of the dashboard. It sounds almost like a blinker is on, but it's not on and it's not as loud as the blinker sound when I turn the blinkers on.

Lastly, there's about a 50% chance I turned the car off while it was still in drive (I can't remember exactly). It was stopped (not moving), but it may have still been in Drive instead of Park when I turned it off. Not sure if that could have done something.

Anyway, any help or insight anyone can provide would be very much appreciated it.
One more thing. The weird clicking noise (which sounds like a quieter version of the blinker) isn't the sound of the car trying to start. It happens even if I don't have the key in the ignition and it sometimes stops for a few seconds, then starts again.

Either the starter solenoid is sticking, or the starter is seized. There's a possibility that the wires running to the starter could be corroded.

Check the connections at the battery and make sure they're clean and tight. Saturns are sensitive to things like that. I know, I had a 96 SL2.
