I have a 1997 Ford Taurus with the 3.0L V6 DOHC and im having transmission problems. Ok its not getting worse or better. First gear sucks. I cant give it any gas or is just revs like its in neutral. But if I dont push the gas then it will go just from letting go of the gas. Second gear is slipping a little bit but not as bad. Once it gets in third gear, it doesnt slip at all. But when i floor it, it doesnt downshift unless i get to a low speed and it will go back to first gear. I hooked up the scan tool to the car, no codes come up, nor does it show that im flooring it when the petal is on the floor. Reverse gear is not effected at all. I can floor it in reverse all I want with no problem. Im wondering if it is a band, or maybe a electrical problem. Im getting a new tranny from the junkyard on thursday if i cant figure this out. I dont want to change the fluid, because im afraid it will make it worse or not work at all.
