I have a 1999 VW Jetta VR6 which the car powered down and eventually I cut the car off as it was making an underpowered sound... I was unable to crank it back up. It seems to have all the regular power from the battery it just will not start. The EPC light came on and now it wont start, can this be caused by a bad alternator? The dealer informed me that it needs a new alternator I just wanted a second opinion. Any help will be greatly appreciated!
