I have one more semester left of grade 11 and then after the summer i will be in my final year of high-school. Since i was in elementary school Ive known i wanted to go on a vacation when i graduate high-school. I'm going to spend two weeks in an all inclusive in some beautiful tropical local.
So I'm wondering what kind of papers/documents i would need to book this and to obviously get on the plane and into whatever country without a sich. I will be 18 at the time of travel coming out of Vancouver, B.C., Canada. Any information of advice you guys can give me would hopefully be a lot of help.

Thanks a lot

For sure you will need a passport, depending where you decide to go you might also need inoculations, you can see what's recommended at http://www.mdtravelhealth.com

Depending on destination you might also need a visa. If you do apply via the embassy of the country you intend to visit. Your travel agent can help here.

As for taking money with you I suggest it's safer to just carry your card and use the ATMs at your destination. Before you depart tell your bank where your going as cards being used abroad can be seen as unusual activity and blocked to prevent fraud.

If you take anything fragile with you have in your carry on baggage not your checked baggage. Baggage handlers are not gentle and it may well get damaged. Don't forget to padlock your checked baggage. Many airport are well known for theft from baggage. London Heathrow is often referred to as Thiefrow with good reason.

Have fun.
