I just bought a used 2000 Honda Civic Si with 113,000 miles for $5000. I just had the timing belt and water pump changed. Civics have the reputation of lasting forever but I'm wondering does that apply to the Si model since it is a little different? Also, I know they're supposed to get 26-30 or so MPG... Is this everyone's experience that has owned one, or is there anyway that I can try to squeeze a few more MPG's out of it? Thanks.

Yes, honda engines last forever, as long as you dont abuse them...
from what I've heard theres not that many civic Si's that dont get abused (theyt got some power)

just make sure you do the regular maintenance, drive slowly to optimize gas mileage

2000 rpm is a bit early...I'd go with 2500-3000rpm to shift..
anyways..back on topic....

the Si is not much different..they are still Honda's and last longer than u need them too..lol i wouldnt worry too much..u have a great car on ur hands
