Just bought a 2002 volkswagen passat 4 motion and just noticed that the fuel gauge is not working. The gauge read empty so I went to fill it up but then I noticed that the tank was already full. I looked around on the net a bit and a few people said they had the same problem with this make and module car. A few said that it could be crud on the fuel sensors from a previous owner putting regular gas in it and not the premium gas that VW says to use. They said that some techron fuel system cleaner would clean the sensors and may fix it. Do you really think I could be so lucky?
