I have a 2006 Suzuki S40. I recently put a new exhaust pipe on it (aftermarket Harley pipe, fully baffled) because the previous owner drilled holes in the stock exhaust to create more sound. The new pipe sounds great, and seems to offer decent back pressure, but it is quite a bit smaller than the stock exhaust. Last night, I got a chance to ride the bike with the new exhaust and I love how the bike performs now. I put the bike up for the night, and this morning was excited to take a short jaunt to work. I started the bike this morning and while I’m giving it a little throttle to warm it, I notice I’ve got a cloud of white smoke around me that stinks a little. I quickly shut off the bike and see a small puddle below the transmission. By the time I got my helmet and gloves off to check the leaked fluid, it had already dried. So, I decided to start the bike again and give it a ride around the block. This time, no smoke (that I knew of). I rode it back home, put on my gloves and headed off to work. It was a great ride, and I didn’t notice any smoke while riding, but now I am concerned that my ride home is going to offer unwanted surprises. Help.
Thank you!
