2007 Jeep Cherokee power failure?

Do you mean ECM? or ECU?

ECM is Electronic Control Module, or ECU - Engine Control Unit.

On a 2007... Chryslers of all types occasioanlly have problems with transmissions in new vehicles dying, but if it just stopped like that, and the turn signals wouldnt work...

1) The turn signals would not work if the key had the car off, but the lights can stay on independent of that. (They still take time to shut themselves off, if they are the Smart headlights. Just a timer, that is all.)

2) Sounds like the car may have overheated, you didnt say much about what happened, and also the 'its a long way' - vehicles with cooling problems that you know will get hot again makes people say this. What hell has this 2007 gone through to make it so unreliable? A crash, maybe?

3) Could be the ECU, but then why did it start back up?

Tow, do not drive, to nearest dealer. Maybe it is like the movie Breakdown with Kurt Russell, and someone has pulled out a bunch of random wires at the gas station to make it die down the road, instead of right when the wires were pulled. LOL!

Hey, they got $25 Billion dollars when every single person but the President said no when they saw the Jets, so maybe they will give you a new Jet too. That is all they are doing with the money, buying G5 Private Jets. Think im wrong? Wait 3 months when they ask for more and get it............. *idiots we are*

my friend is drive her 2007 Jeep Cherokee all of a sudden, her car loses power, the dash lights were on but the engine died and the turn signal wouldnt work, i had her turn everything off and try to restart the car, it started right up but she still has a long way until she gets home and needs to get gas etc, she is afraid to shut off the car, do you think it could be her pcm?

If I were there I could give a better answer but from my own previous experience with my Jeep Grand Cherokee it is probably an electrical issue. Tell your friend to look at all of her fuses in both the vehicle & inside the engine bay.

Tell her to use the manual that came with the Jeep to determine which fuses she needs to look at.

If it's not something electrical then I can't advise on that one.
