I bought my car in Feb. 2010. Soon after I noticed some rough idling. Took it to the Chrysler shop and they reset the computer. Said that was the issue. In October, my check engine light came on. I took it to the shop and they said that I should replace my spark plugs. I was at 46k miles. I replaced all spark plugs. I also got a tune up and injection cleaner. An hour after leaving the shop, the light comes back on. I bring it back to the shop. They ask to keep it for a week. They call me a few days later to say it's my fuel pump and I need to replace it. They replace my fuel pump and the light is still on. They then say they stuck a camera down in it and apparently one of my pistons is now going out. Since the repair would be over $3000.00 and I have already put in so much, I go to a local shop to get a second opinion. The light is off again. Has been off for two days. The mechanic said nothing is wrong with my pistons but said to replace my gas cap. Replaced that yesterday. Went out today to fill up my tank and the light is back on. I am at the end of my rope here. I have invested so much money and I'm at the point of looking to replace the car, take a hit on trade in value and just get rid of it. I'm looking for other recommendations on what it could be. Any ideas?
