I am currently looking for an air intake system for my 2009 4.3l Chevrolet Silverado. There are some systems without the air tube. Like the airaid system. Would it really make a difference? Also, I found this Volant PowerCore Air Intake 07-08 chevy/GMC truck 4.3l website : ( http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Volant-PowerCore-Air-Intake-07-08-Chevy-GMC-Truck-4-3L-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQfitsZModelQ3aSilveradoQ201500QQhashZitem1e63c87c2dQQitemZ130523102253QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories ). Would that fit? If so, would it be reliable? I just need an opinion for what kind of air intake system would work best, and what my options would be. Any help would be appreciated(: I'm just looking for some more hp and some gain in mileage also. Thank you!
I do have a dual exhaust setup on the truck. Flowmaster 40 series (: I think I'll go with airaid but it does not come with the air tube. does that matter at all?

Cold Air intake systems are good for increasing horse power 5~15hp, but as for gas mileage, you're not going to increase your mileage, you're most likely going to be decreasing in mpg.

Cold air intakes vary quite a bit vehicle to vehicle. I have heard good things from both Airaid and Volant. I say go with what you feel comfortable with and what you have heard about them. Both are very good quality products and should give you a noticeable boost in power, but not much mileage. It would be best to upgrade the stock exhaust to a cat-back performance setup in addition to the intake. The stock exhaust is very restrictive, you should see a nice gain in fuel mileage with an exhaust.
