I am looking to purchase a car that gets 35 MPG. These are the two choices I have narrowed it down to, and am looking for some opinions on the two. Thanks in advance!

Test drive them both. Either one will serve you well but they drive differently. The Civic is a bit sportier with a firmer ride.

corolla, they are more expensive, but they are totally worth it. i have had my corolla since 2002, she has 145,000 miles and still runs perfectly! all ive had to do is a little maintnance, and to tell you the truth i didnt even change the air filter till last year! i know thats bad, but she still runs like a champ! i took her down to florida last weekend and i live in saint louis. absolutely no problems and i dont see any happening for a long time, eventhough shes getting old.

Both are good cars - the best for reliability actually. In my opinion, the Civic would be better, simply because I've always owned Honda's, and the quality is very high. But you can't go wrong with the Corolla either. Just pick the one you think fits you the best, you can't go wrong with those choices.
