2009 Toyota Yaris ?

I'm a short and 17. My parents and I went to a toyota dealer. Because I'm short, my parents are looking to get a car that fits me and is in our budget. At the toyota dealer, I tried the Toyota Yaris and it's good, I can reach the gas and brake perfectly. The best one for me is the 2009 Toyota Yaris. It's either the 09 Yaris liftback (hatchback) 5 door or the 09 Yaris sedan. I may decide to get the 09 Yaris liftback. Is the 09 Yaris liftback a good car? What is it's Pros and cons? How about the safety?
 
i have a 07 hatchback and pros is the car gets great gas mileage, a con i found is the cheap plastic interior dash and least in cold weather it sucks at trying to warm up to get up to speed past 20 mph. I have had nothing but toyotas all my life but im thinking about maybe a honda civic.
